DIY Bodysuit Out Of Leggings

DIY bodysuit out of leggings by Jenny Bess of Sweet Teal

If you have some leggings then you have a bodysuit. Yeah, it’s pretty cool. I usually buy my leggings from Walmart for about $3 and that’s all I wear to work. They usually last a long time but I had a pair that got bleach on them and I didn’t want to just throw them out. THEN I watched a video on YouTube of someone turn a pair into a bodysuit and I couldn’t resist. I tried it myself and it worked. So here is how to take any pair of leggings and turn them into a bodysuit of your own in just three easy steps.

Prep It

  • Leggings
  • Scissors
  • Sewing machine (or needle + thread)
  • Pins

Do It

step one

Cut the leggings into shorts. I cut about 3″ down from the top of the inseam.

step two

Sew the bottom of the leg pieces together (the two smaller ends).

step three

Put the shorts on and then wrap the other piece around your neck and tuck it in to where it fits you correctly. Pin it so that you know where to sew exactly when you take the bodysuit off and then sew the pieces to the shorts.

I absolutely love the way you styled this body suit with the skirt! I may be biased because blue happens to be one of my favorite colors, and when you pair it with black, it’s just perfect!!

I’m so glad I came across your blog <3 Love EVERYTHING from the design to your posts… and I can't wait to read more!

I hope you'll take time to look at my blog, as well, and leave any feedback you might have! Or just little love for an scsister just starting out!
