Whether you are going on a dinner date with your boyfriend, husband, girlfriend, or best friends, you want to know what to wear to what locations. You don’t want to be overdressed or underdressed. You ask your friends what they are wearing and look up the place on social media before hand. I’ve been there and I want to give you my tips.
During high school, my best friend Celeste and I would dress up at least one night a week and go out to dinner. We loved going to The Cheesecake Factory because of their freaking delicious chocolate cake but we’d also love to go to bars. Sometimes the most fun part of going out to dinner is getting ready for that dinner. Doing your hair, makeup, picking out an outfit. It can be so much fun, especially with friends!
WHAT TO WEAR: Casual Dinner
A casual dinner date to a restaurant such as a Carrabbas calls for an outfit that looks dressed up without being overdressed. Casual dinner dates can be sort of tricky with figuring out what to wear. Do you opt for a dress or jeans? What type of accessories? Is a large purse too much? The truth is, you could get away with anything on a casual dinner to a place that’s in-between formal and super chill. Here are items I would wear…
WHAT TO WEAR: Formal Dinner
A nice dinner to a Capital Grille or Fleming’s means you should probably dress up. I’m talking heels, a dress, and a clutch. Jewelry is always a nice touch when going out to these kinds of restaurants too.
WHAT TO WEAR: Super Chill Dinner
Suuuuper chill dinners at places like Johnny Rocket’s or a pizza joint are places where you can dress way down. Wear jeans, a comfortable tee, and some cute sneakers or flip flops.
The outfit I’m wearing in these photos is actually one I wore to dinner at a pizza place. It could be worn to both a super chill dinner or a casual dinner. I love how this top can be dressed up. I’m a sucker for high neck and lace too! Plus those buttons on the back make it to die for. I dressed it down with sandals and jeans but you could also wear it tucked into a mini skirt with a pair of heels.
