Tassel earrings are all the rage right now and they can get expensive. For something so simple to make, I don’t see why anyone is buying them from stores. If you have a bit of time, gather up some inexpensive supplies and you can have a pair of your own DIY stacked tassel earrings. What I love about these is that they can be dyed and customized. You can make an ombre pair, you can tie-dye them, you can add beads. I dip-dyed a pair using leftover dye from my DIY American flag shirt. Get creative!
- Embroidery Floss
- Beading Wire
- Wire Fish Hook Earrings
- Needle & Thread
- Ruler (I used a bleach pen)
- Jewelry Pliers
Make the tassels. I went off of this post as a guide and used a bleach pen in place of the ruler. I wrapped the embroidery thread around the pen about 90 times for each tassel. Instead of having a string on top, pull it tight and lay it down flat with the rest of the tassel.
Use a needle and thread to thread through the middle bottom of each tassel to connect them. Tie a knot on top.
Loop a piece of the strings on top of the tassels through the fish hook on the earrings. Use a pair of pliers if you need to open the hooks a bit more.
Finish the earrings off by wrapping wire around the top tassel. Cut a piece of wire with the pliers and just wrap it around, tucking the ends in.

What color combinations would you make your stacked tassel earrings with? You could get different colored embroidery floss and make ombre tassels or dye the white tassels a bright blue! I’ll definitely be making more of these earrings.
