This post is sponsored by Humankind and all opinions are my own, as always. I don’t share anything I wouldn’t use myself.
Gunner, my 13 pound rescue Chihuahua mix, has had a diet change and I can’t believe the effect it has had on him. I’ll go into detail on all of the effects but first a little back story on Gunner. He is 3 years old and has been highly active his whole life. He is constantly running around and on the go. He has tried a few different brands of food but is actually very picky. He might eat a certain food for a month and then decide he doesn’t like the taste after that. I’ve had to figure out exactly what he likes, and even then he has never really been crazy about any particular foods. Another thing is he poops a lot. Some might say he’s filled with it because it just keeps coming out. I’m talking upwards of 8 poops a day. He isn’t underweight though, he is perfectly healthy. He’s just a picky dog who poops a lot and doesn’t really enjoy his food.
Until we discovered Humankind, I thought life for him would always be like that.
Differences in the Food
Most dog foods are shaped in little brown pebbles and all look the same. They seem bland. Humankind is a food for dogs that is 100% Human Quality. It has real ingredients, different sized chunks mixed with soft bits, and looks gourmet. The coolest part of this food though is that it comes dehydrated. It’s a powder that you just add water to! I actually enjoy whipping it up for him, which makes me enjoy it!
Humankind is also grain-free, natural, and complies with the highest FDA regulations for human edible food set by the US government. It’s nutrient-rich and the same kind of food you would find in a restaurant or grocery store. 99.8% of its protein comes from whole foods. Being minimally processed at low temperatures to retain natural nutrients, it is unlike traditional dog foods. If you’re thinking this food sounds good so far, there are even more good things about it! It has no by-products, artificial preservatives, meals, or fillers of any kind. No 4D meat from dead, dying, diseased, or disabled animals are used and no GMO ingredients or ingredients from China, are found in Humankind. I had no idea pet feed is allowed to contain 4D meat and knowing that now, I don’t think I’ll even go back to feeding my dogs anything else.
Differences in my Dog
Gunner goes absolutely crazy over this food! Whenever I open the container and start to get it ready for him, he does a little happy dance. I think he really enjoys the taste of it and gets excited to eat it every day. He doesn’t happy dance over any other food. Another difference I have seen in him, and this one is major, is he poops less! With his other food, he was pooping 5 to 8 times a day! Now, he poops around 3 times. I feel like Gunner has been happier and enjoying life more after changing to Humankind.
If you are looking for a natural food that is actually good for your dog, then make the switch to Humankind. We care about what foods we put into our mouths and where they come from so why wouldn’t we do the same for our dogs?
