Skirts in fall can be so versatile. You can layer them or wear with high boots. They are perfect for days when the weather is cold in the morning and warmer later in the day. A mini skirt can make a statement or just be plain comfortable.
Since I live in Florida and we don’t really get season changes, my outfit in these photos is more for a warmer fall day but I’ll be sharing tips for wearing skirts on those chilly days as well.
My first tip for wearing skirts in fall or winter is to layer them. By layering, I mean tights. Wearing tights underneath can keep you warm but can also be removed easily if the weather gets too hot. It’s a great trick!
High & Low Boots
I love the look of boots with skirts. If it’s cold, wear thigh high boots. If it’s warm, wear booties. I made a video on how to make a pair of DIY thigh high boots out of old booties if you don’t want to spend too much. Watch it here!
Some other ways skirts would be cute in the fall are with a long cardigan or a long sleeve top. Statement sleeves are very in right now and I’m loving the layered bell sleeves look. I think they look amazing with skirts. See some of my favorites below.
I love, love, love scalloped anything and when I came across this blue skirt with scallop edges, I knew I had to have it. It’s comfortable and I love the fit. I actually used it to make a pattern for my DIY a-line skirt. It’s a must have in my opinion. Plus you can get $10 off your first order from The Mint Julep if you sign up for their e-mails. That would make this skirt only $30 and you’ll be supporting a great business. Read their “about” story, I love it.
