Clothes that shrink are a major bummer. How many times have you done laundry and forgot that something can’t be dried but you accidentally dried it anyways? I’ve done this a good amount of times and it just recently happened to me again! I bought the perfect shirt to pair with leggings because of its length. I was so excited because it had lace and was flow-y, my two favorite qualities in a shirt. I got to wear it once and then it got washed. My boyfriend changed the laundry and put all of the clothes into the drier. I forgot to tell him not to dry my shirt and by the time I remembered it was too late. I was so upset because I screwed up my brand new shirt. I immediately got onto the computer to see if I could unshrink it and guess what I found out? You can unshrink clothes!
I wish I would have taken pictures wearing the shirt before and after I unshrunk it to show you, but when the shirt was shrunk it was about 5 inches shorter than it is now.
First thing you want to do is fill up a sink with lukewarm water and add a squirt or cap-full of conditioner.
Then soak your clothing item, I’m using my shirt, in the water and massage the conditioner into it. Then gently squeeze excess water out of the clothing item and place it on a towel.
Once you lay your clothing item out on a towel, roll it up to get even more of the water out.
Then put your clothing item on a new towel and stretch it out until it returns to its original size. Leave it on the towel to dry. Your clothing item will be unshrunk and ready to be worn again. So stop crying over a shrunk shirt and try this! It really does work.
