Cake is a wonderful thing. You can make it to anyone’s liking. I personally love a good red velvet or chocolate cake. This cake recipe I have for you is a little different though. It involves orange juice, jello, and sugar. It sounds pretty interesting and weird but I swear this cake is the perfect touch of sweetness that you need in your life.
- Orange cake mix
- 1 box of lemon Jello
- Orange juice
- Powdered sugar
- Vegetable oil
- Cinnabon Icing (found in the baking section of Publix)
Mix the orange cake mix according to the box instructions but add the box of lemon Jello. After it’s all mixed up you put it in a pan and cook it according to the box or until it is golden brown. Once it has cooled down after cooking, poke holes in the top of it. Mix up 1 tsp of vegetable oil, 1 cup powdered sugar, and 1 cup orange juice. Pour that mixture on top of the cake to fill in the holes.
Sprinkle more powdered sugar on top of the cake. For the icing, I just put some of the Cinnabon icing in a cup, heated it up in the microwave, and drizzled it on top of the cake with a fork.
This cake is sweet with a touch of tang from the orange juice. It’s the perfect thing to feed a sweet tooth. I love how different it is. With a little experimenting, you can make some yummy treats.
Is this cake something you would try?
