As you may know, I moved to a new home on May 31st. For my new apartment I am trying to use what I already have to furnish it. Using what I already have means some things may be old or might not match what I want my theme to be, which is beach-y vintage. So I am doing a whole lot of do it yourself projects to make my stuff look awesome. I already turned some Walmart chairs into beach chic chairs and updated some round mirrors I had to give them a nautical look. Now I am moving on to bar stools. In my new apartment there is a big, long island counter in the kitchen. It could fit about 4 bar stools. I recently bought these Target bar stools in 29″ when they were on sale for $16 each. I’ve been looking and looking for cheap bar stools and I finally found them, and at Target! I got the idea straight from Cuckoo 4 Design to paint these babies. They look amazing in her pictures and have the perfect dash of blue to go with my color schemes.
Here’s what you need:
- Landon Bar Stools
- White spray paint
- Painter’s tape
- Blue paint
Using the painter’s tape, tape some newspaper or whatever you want to use to protect the top of the stools, to the bar stool tops. This will ensure that you don’t get any white paint on the top, which is going to stay the wood color it already is. Next, you can start painting the chairs white.
To get the blue rim, you need to tape off the very top of the stools.
That’s it. I love how these bar stools turned out. They will go perfectly with all the rest of my furniture now and they didn’t cost me too much.
