My bedroom in my new apartment is slowly coming together. Since we moved Gunner has peed on our old bed skirt so I threw it out. I just wanted a new one. Then when I tried finding a new one, I couldn’t find one I liked. So I resorted to Pinterest. I saw someone who used bed sheets to make a bed skirt so I followed along the lines of that. I went to Goodwill and found two white twin sized sheets for $3 each.
To make the bed skirt all you need is the sheets. That’s it. So sewing, no stapling, no gluing. It’s super easy to make this bed skirt and the results are great. I made this bed skirt for a king sized bed but it can fit any size.
Fold each sheet in half long ways and cut on the fold so that you have four pieces. Then take one piece and place it under your mattress on top of your box spring like you would a regular bed skirt. All you have to do next is bunch it under the mattress to create the wavy bunched look. Keep adding pieces as you go around the bed. I used 3 of the pieces then cut the last in half and used it. If you have a twin or full sized bed you could probably get away with using just one sheet. When you are done your mattress will keep the bed skirt in place. I think it turns out beautiful and looks really cozy. It adds that final touch to your bed setup.
As you can see above, I just stuffed and bunched the sheets under the mattress. It takes about 5 minutes to do this whole project and the results look like it took hours.1
