Well, my nautical bedroom is complete. It only took 10 months! Hah. Hopefully I can have my next apartment decorated in a fraction of that time. We plan on moving soon so I hope to plan it all out ahead of time. I think I’ll go for a more vintage, shabby chic theme next. I can’t help it, I love decorating. I just wish my bank account agreed. But that is why I DIY so many things! Why buy something when you can do it yourself? A lot of the stuff in this room I either made or thrifted and refurbished. Everything else was most likely bought on sale. Except for the dog. That dog has cost me a lot of money, LOL.
The reason it took so long to complete my bedroom decor is for a few reasons but mainly, the lamps. I used to have smaller lamps but I didn’t like how they were so small. I got pretty picky when it came to lamps and I couldn’t justify spending $50 each or more for new lamps. I didn’t feel like the room was complete without new lamps though. Then one day when I least expected it, I walked into Goodwill and saw two dark pink seashell lamps calling my name! I was ecstatic when I found them. They are so unique and gorgeous. I painted them silver of course, the pink was not staying. The lamps didn’t have any lampshades though, but that was okay, I had my eye on some at Target. Overall, I just love how my bedroom turned out. It has the perfect amount of nautical and it’s covered in blue and silver. I just wished it stayed this clean all the time.
