Tie-dye is a medium I’ve been working with recently but haven’t really been able to get the hang of until now. The messiness of it can be a little frustrating but this DIY American flag tie-dye shirt is actually very easy to make! With Fourth of July coming up, you can whip this up to wear in no time (well about 7-ish hours since the dye has to sit). Pair it with some denim shorts and you’re good to go!
- White Tee
- Blue & Red Dye (I used teal)
- Rubber Bands
- Garbage Bag
- 2 Plastic Bags
- Bleach Pen
When you buy the Tulip tie-dye kits, they come with rubber bands and gloves. You can get singular dye at Michaels or Joann, this is what I did and used coupons! I got red and teal and also got the white tee from Michaels.
I ended up cutting my shirt just under the second stripe because I really like how cropped tees look with high-waisted shorts. What will you be wearing for Fourth of July?
