Hello there on this lovely Sunday afternoon! Last week I was invited to dine at BRAVO Cucina Italiana in Mercato. There are BRAVOs all over the country but I have somehow never been to one before! So when the opportunity arose to try the summertime menu, I said yes! I love trying new places to eat because it allows you to get away from the “same old”. I’m going to walk you through everything I tried from their new summer menu in this post. Until July 23, you can enjoy the entrées I did starting at $16.99 for lunch and dinner. Each of the entrées comes with a choice of soup or salad too! Before we get to the food, I’m going to share what I wore.
Pairing my go-to black top with a pair of Levi’s is always a foolproof outfit. You can wear nicer tops with jeans and still look put together without being too overdressed. Plus, it’s comfortable! I added a little sparkle with my mermaid shoes that I purchased from DSW a while back. I probably would have wore a different purse with this outfit but this purse is my everyday bag and it already had all of my stuff in it. Otherwise, I would have went this a clutch like this.

Onto the food…
To start we had some bread with olive oil dipping sauce and it was the best I’ve had in a while. We ordered lobster bisque and a chopped salad with a pair of Sun In The Shade Seasonal Cocktails. The cocktails have Bacardi Rum, lime juice, and pineapple juice. They tasted like something I would drink while laying on the beach. The lobster bisque was amazing. I’m a newcomer to it and I don’t know why because I’ve always loved lobster. Whenever I’m at a restaurant now that has a lobster bisque, I try it. BRAVO’s was so good that I ate half of that big bowl and I could have finished it but I wanted to leave room for the rest of my meal. Will finished off the salad and he said it was pretty filling and had a lot of great tastes to it. It was better than the average salad.
Next up were the 3 new entrées. The above left is the Grilled Shrimp & Cous Cous Pilaf with asparagus, grape tomatoes, shaved Brussels sprouts, Reggiano, Marcona
On the right is the Sliced Skirt Steak with fingerling potatoes, caramelized onions, roasted red peppers, Reggiano, lemon vinaigrette and chimichurri. This dish was Will’s favorite. For all of you meat lovers out there, this one is for you. We got the steak medium rare and it was perrrrfect. It was juicy, flavorful, and paired well with the potatoes. I really like the portion they give you too because it’s not too much and not too little.
The third entrée, my favorite, is the Chicken & Shrimp Scampi with white wine, garlic, angel hair, spinach, lemon butter and tomatoes. You know it’s going to be good chicken when you can slice through it with a fork like butter. The sauce was fantastic and overall this dish was yummy. It was filling but you don’t want to stop eating it!
With little room in our tummies left, we finished our dinner off with a cup of coffee and the Warm Berry Cake. It’s a house-made butter cake with seasonal berries and vanilla bean gelato. I could eat 10 of these in one sitting. The mix of the warm butter cake with the cold gelato was decadent and complemented each other perfectly. I would come back JUST for this dessert, that’s how delicious it was.
Overall, our experience at BRAVO was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the environment was beautifully decorated and relaxed, and the food was amazing. We will be back for sure.
