Donuts, donuts, donuts. Personally, I don’t know anyone who hates donuts! And hey, they are the perfect sweet treat to have at parties! Thinking of my wedding and what kind of desserts we want to have, donuts came to mind. I then started to think about how we could display the donuts in a cool way. Alas, this DIY donut stand came to life!
I purchased two 12 packs and three 8 packs of Entenmann’s donuts. This stand has them all minus a couple who unfortunately made it into some hungry mouths.
Make this DIY donut stand
Cut the wooden dowels to these sizes:
1 at 20 1/2″
2 at 12 1/4″
2 at 16 3/8″
Pre-drill holes using a 5/64 drill bit in the bottom of a piece of wood, 3.8 inches apart. Then pre-drill into the bottom of each dowel.
I used a piece of wood I found at Michael’s for the bottom. It’s perfect because it can catch any crumbs that fall down and allows for easy cleanup.
Then using a 2″ screw, drill from the bottom up on the wood. Then screw into each wooden dowel until it gets secure and flush with the piece of wood.
TIP: Use a buddy to hold the dowels while they get screwed in.
As easy as 1-2-3. This donut stand looks great without any paint, just be sure to sand it before adding donuts if there are rough edges. There’s nothing worse than getting a splinter while trying to enjoy a cinnamon sugar powdered donut.
Which reminds me to ask, what’s your favorite type of donut? I want to know! Leave a little comment down below and let’s talk.
You could easily fit a few more packs of donuts on this stand, making it perfect for parties. Donuts for everyone! Just make sure to put some sturdy donuts on the bottom since the more you add, the more weight gets added as well.
