If you have a dinosaur loving about to turn 3 year old, like I do, who wants a dinosaur birthday party, you are in luck! I’ve put together a list of party decorations and supplies to throw an easy and cute dinosaur birthday party for a three rex! Including the cutest party favors that you could use as a prize or just a “thank you for coming”. I painted 23 dinosaur footprints around our house inside and outside for the kids to find and once they did, they got to pick a tiny 3D printed dinosaur. Kids who weren’t interested in the scavenger hunt also got one as a party favor.
For food, we had dinosaur nuggets, snacks, fruit, a shrimp platter, and wraps. I found the cutest durable t-rex food trays for the kids. Less messy than plates since they are bowl shaped. My sister made a dinosaur cake in purple and green (my daughter’s favorite colors). You could also do cupcakes and use these cupcake toppers I made. Which I also created some party invitations for the dinosaur lovers here! The table cloth I purchased is one you can color on and it served as another activity for anyone to do!
For entertainment, we had a water slide and kiddie pool and it kept most of the kids occupied the whole time. We also had this $30 inflatable dinosaur sprinkler. The inflatable smaller dinosaurs served as both decoration and toys in the pool, making them a great addition if you don’t want to do balloons. Or if you simply want some decorations that double as toys for your kid to play with long after the party is over. I always choose to buy decoration that I can reuse for birthdays in the future. I used the green birthday banner for my other daughter’s third birthday and my husband’s birthday as well. The dinosaur banner is hanging as decoration in my daughters room now!
Dinosaur birthday parties don’t have to be hard. Buy a few key items and focus on having entertainment and food and it’ll be a great time. You don’t have to go all out. Just remember that it’s a birthday party and focus on the memories, not the decorations and everything looking perfect.
