When we first moved into our house, I was most excited about having a backyard and covered patio. We had been living in apartments the prior 5 years. While we still have a good amount of outdoor projects to complete, like painting the house, we have given a few areas makeovers already. On the patio specifically, we’ve switched two ceiling lights out for two fans, added rugs and furniture, painted the wood floor and wood around the ceiling, and tore out the balcony and bar. However, my favorite project has been the sunny side of the patio. We replaced the screen roof with clear plastic panels to keep the area drier and cleaner. We also added these beautiful outdoor curtains from TheHues that absolutely transformed the space!
I can’t tell you how much I love looking out at our gorgeous patio now. It makes so much sense to have the dining table under the sunshine and it makes for beautiful evening dinners outside.
We used anti-rust outdoor curtain rods from TheHues and these rings to hang the curtains. To hang them, we just screwed the rod hooks right into the screen frame. I went with the Noah Linen Look Lightweight Waterproof Custom Outdoor Curtains in double pinch pleats in the color Noah/Natural. They look just like my other 100% linen curtains and you would never know they are 15% linen and 85% polyester. The color is the perfect shade of natural linen and pairs well with my dining table. It really elevated the space and added a lot of privacy to our patio since there’s a road on the other side of our fence.
As for the quality of the curtains, I can say for sure that they hold up well in rain and are definitely waterproof. We just had a tropical storm and I left the curtains up to see how well they would do in the rain and they still look brand new! There’s not a spec of dirt on them. They also have UV protection, which is nice. They have sewn weights on the bottoms that allow the curtains to blow gently in the wind without blowing all around. They stay in place for the most part.
I went with natural toned curtains so that I can switch up the decor with anything since pretty much any color pairs well with this light cream shade. I kept it neutral with touches of green but I look forward to decorating this space during different seasons and holidays.
I didn’t want sheer curtains since I wanted to add privacy to our patio and these let in the perfect amount of light while blocking out the street and yard. These photos were taken under an overcast sky, right before it rained, and also in the middle of the day when the sun was shining at its brightest. As you can see, these curtains look great at any time of the day, no matter the weather.
I highly recommend waterproof outdoor curtains to elevate your outdoor space and give it a romantic look while providing privacy. Never underestimate the power of curtains and how much they can transform a space. TheHues has a great selection of curtains and shades. I definitely needed custom sized curtains since our patio has unique measurements. The only negative thing I have to say is that the custom curtains were not labeled with their sizes when we received them. We had to measure each panel before hanging them since I ordered different sized panels to fit my space. Which isn’t a big deal, but it did add time to the install since I ordered four different sizes. Other than that, TheHues delivered beautiful curtains made of high quality materials. I will be recommending these curtains to anyone that needs outdoor curtains!
