Here is our tropical master bathroom makeover reveal! This bathroom has come a long way, starting with a pink countertop and peeling mirror.

Tropical Master Bathroom Makeover
We did a few key things to update this bathroom makeover and kept it all budget friendly. We started by painting all of the walls white to give it a neutral base. The wallpaper was a last minute add and I am so glad that we decided to do it! It made a huge difference and I can’t imagine not having it now! I also painted the cabinets, door, medicine cabinet door, and the countertop. After painting the countertop white, I sealed it with epoxy and mixed in some glitter, which you can’t really see in these photos.
I added new handles to the cabinets and we installed a new sink and faucet. To cover up the peeling mirror, we framed it out with wood and did the same around the window. A grout pen was another cheap, easy update that made all the difference and it only cost $8.99. I wrote a blog post all about it showing my other bathroom. In place of a towel rack, we used boat cleats and I sewed elastic loops on the sides of the towels to hang them on the cleats. With two new rugs and a few decor items, the bathroom was complete!
I linked all of the items I bought for this bathroom at the end of this post if you want to shop them.
The Bathroom Before

I only have one before photo of this bathroom but I think you can get the gist of what I was working with and how bad it was. The vanity looked like it was painted with a watered down acrylic paint, the handles were possibly from the 90s, the mirror was peeling, and just look at that pink countertop.

All About The Wallpaper
I collaborated with Photowall for the wallpaper and I’m in LOVE. I wanted to keep the bathroom pretty neutral but break up all the white that it had going on. Will and I had never applied wallpaper before this and it was surprisingly easy! You can get a kit with all the tools you need straight from Photowall when you buy your wallpaper, as well as the glue. I used the Foggy Jungle – Bleached premium wallpaper. If you search “tropical” on their site, a lot of beautiful options come up for wallpaper if you’re interested in creating a tropical oasis like me but want something a little different or more colorful.
Photowall also sells wall murals, canvas prints, framed prints, and posters. So if you see a design you like but don’t want to commit to wallpaper, you can get it framed or something not so permanent!
The wallpaper was delivered in less than 5 days and took a whole Saturday to put up. It comes with instructions and there are video tutorials on how to do it so the process was very easy.
They gave me a promo code for my readers to use to get 25% off too! The code is jennybess25 and it’s good for any product from Photowall for the next month.

That monstera plant grew from a small clipping of a monstera plant I had in our last apartment. When we moved into our house, the plant was left in the car too long and turned black. I thought it would completely die so I took a small clipping of a part that was still green and alive and propagated it. That little clipping is now the plant in my bathroom today! It’s been growing since we bought the house so it has a special place in my heart. The plant that had turned black ended up making a full recovery once I put it on my patio and gave it some water!

If you didn’t know, I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant! I’m ecstatic to have both our master bathroom and guest bath finished before baby comes.
As promised, here are all the links to the items we used in our tropical bathroom makeover. We tried to keep it budget friendly since we eventually plan to do a complete renovation of the bathroom in the future. I just couldn’t live with the state of the bathroom before. That pink countertop drove me nuts!

Thank you!! I just added a before photo to this blog post! I wish I would have taken more but I only have one photo.
The bathroom looks great! My question is though how long did or does the tub face lift last? Is this like reglazing or is it more like paint?
Amazing! Looks like a new bathroom!
