Affordable Baby Girl Nursery

As soon as I found out we are having a baby girl, I got to creating her nursery design plan. I knew it would be tropical, have teal accents, and be somewhat neutral. I’m not really a fan of pink or super bright colors and kid-related prints. I like calm, beach neutral color palettes, and simplicity.

Why does having a baby mean you have to throw interior design out the window and become overrun with all that ugly kid stuff? I mean if you want to have your home filled to the brim with colorful toys and bright prints then all the power to you but I’d rather do it in a way that won’t feel overwhelming and cluttered.

I decided on a simple mermaid theme with just a bit of pink. Think of that bit of sky that turns pink after the sun goes down if you will. Bam, fits in the beach color palette that I love!

I first started with the crib because I love the price and natural color of it. Then I found the tipi tent and went from there. It helps to find one or two main pieces and design around them. The chair was the last thing I found. I have a turquoise couch I was planning on keeping in the room but it just takes up too much space. Plus, the chair has a built-in massage feature!

Keeping things affordable was a must since there are so many newborn products to buy with a first born! I didn’t want to go too crazy on the nursery, yet still have the design I wanted. All of these things are on the affordable side. A few things, like the scalloped baskets, are no longer available but I already have some that are pretty similar and it’s easy to find dupes. I may change a few aspects of the design when it comes time to actually make it real but for now, these are my picks!
