How To Make Wedding Bouquets Using Fake Flowers

It’s only 3 months until my wedding now and I’m getting the final touches together. Side note: we still need a caterer, no biggie.

Caterer aside, I want to share how I made these fake flower bouquets using flowers from Afloral.

I did include some real, dried out leaves to mix the elements but most of the flowers are actually fake! Hard to tell, right?

I opted for fake flowers for two reasons.

I could arrange the bouquets exactly how I want them without relying on a florist.
Having the bouquets already means one less thing to stress about getting done right before the wedding.

If you do it right, a fake floral bouquet can look amazing. Plus, you don’t have to worry about flower allergies, the flowers dying, making sure they have water, or any other maintenance real flowers would need.

DIY Wedding Bouquets

For the bridesmaid bouquets, I used the following:

Step One

Arrange the flowers together like below.

Step Two

Using floral tape, wrap it around the base of the bouquet. I wrapped the more sticky side around first then twisted it and wrapped it with the other side.

Step Three

Trim the stems to be the same length using wire cutters.

By sticking to a specific color scheme and using flowers that work well together, you can create a beautiful bouquet even if they flowers are fake!

I actually mixed faux and real and the trick to it is to use dried out flowers or leaves. The bunny tail grass and palm leaves are very real. Mixing different textures can look amazing, just try not to over-do it.

For the bridal bouquet, I used the following:

I really just picked out my favorites from Afloral’s site and combined them for this bouquet. I stuck with the greenery theme and added in a bit of blue and purple.
