When it comes to engagement rings and wedding bands, I like to think of them as something you wouldn’t mind wearing for the rest of your life.

Your wedding set needs to be comfortable, beautiful, and meaningful.

It’s something you’ll be wearing every day of your life (if you choose to) so wouldn’t you want it to be exactly what you want?

The only way to get the exact ring of your dreams is to have it custom made. Plain and simple.

Sure you could fall in love with a certain designer’s collection but the only true way to get your dream ring is to design it yourself and have someone bring it to life.

Enter, Statice

Fully online, fully custom, and fully customer service driven. I can’t recommend Statice enough.

Statice is able to create custom rings at a lower price than competitors because they don’t keep inventory. They make rings as requested. They handle all of the backend tasks of finding the materials, suppliers, makers, and designers so you don’t have to.

Will proposed to me with the dainty ring I’ve been wanting for years. I wanted it to be small so that I barely notice it’s there and something that I can wear every hour of the day. I don’t want to take off the jewelry I wear or else I’ll forget to put it back on.

So after receiving my engagement ring, I knew I wanted to design the wedding band completely. It needed to be dainty as well and comfortable. I knew it would need to be a custom ring.

I found Statice through social media and decided to just see how much it would cost and what the process entailed.

It’s a simple process that Statice uses and I decided to take the plunge and design a ring!

I’ll explain the process I went through now.

1 | Get Inspiration

Search through Pinterest and find ring styles you like. It’s very important to get some inspiration or else you’ll never know what you like. Unless you already do, then disregard this step.

I knew I wanted a scalloped band for sure. I knew I wanted rose gold as well since that’s what my engagement ring has. Also, I love bezel settings. I wanted the two rings to look like they belonged together.

My original idea was to copy a sunset. I would have the scalloped band (as the water) and stones in a half circle to act as the sun, setting over the horizon.

I mocked something up on my computer to give the designers at Statice something to go off of and best explain my design idea to them.

You can also set your budget in this step.

2 | CAD Rendering

After sending in your design inspo or a drawing of what you would like, Statice makes a CAD computer rendering.

You can get a better idea of what your ring will look like and see if you want to change anything about it.

Once you approve the 3D CAD rendering, you can then move on to the next step!

3 | Choose Metals & Stones

The fun part! Choose your metals and stones in this step. Do you want a 10k gold band? Do you want diamonds? Which shapes? Do you want a little color? Go with some sapphires or emeralds!

Statice will send you photos of the stones you choose so you can get a better idea of what they will look like.

Statice also let’s you choose different options based on your price range.

4 | 3D Printed Ring

This step is exciting because Statice prints out your ring using a 3D printer and sends it to you! Once you approve it to be printed, you should receive it in a few days. I believe I got mine in the mail the next day!

You will receive a printed white ring to try on and see if you like it enough to get it made using real materials.

They also send a ring sizer so that you can choose the correct size.

5 | Final Changes

If there is anything you want to change about the ring, do so now.

If you make changes, Statice will send a new 3D printed ring.

If you are ready to pull the trigger and get your custom ring made using real materials, now is the time to approve it!

6 | Purchase & Start Production

I paid half of the cost of the ring to start production and then the rest right before it was ready to ship. It took about 3 weeks between approving it for production and it being finished. Once it’s finished, it will take only a few days to get to you!

It will come in a ring box with an appraisal/authentication sheet.

My experience with Statice was A+. They were attentive, knowledgeable, extremely helpful, and kind.

Throughout the process, we exchanged around 90 emails back and forth to get my perfect custom ring. Any little changes I wanted, they made happen. Shelly was with me though most of the process and she was AMAZING. If you can, I highly recommend working with Shelly, although everyone at Statice was wonderful!

I even sent in two sapphires my mom gave me to have incorporated into the ring. This made it even more special to me to be able to have a part of my mom in the ring.

If you are looking for a custom ring, there’s no better company than Statice to design it and bring it to life.
